Situational Strengths Test (SST)

The Situational Strengths Test is a simulation exam (SJT) based on the strengths of the individual being tested and is a tailor-made assessment used in recruitment processes to determine suitability for certain positions. In the SST, the candidate is confronted with different realistic scenarios, for each of which the testee must answer different sets of questions which aim to analyse his/her feelings, behaviours and reactions, during the various simulations.

The Aim of the Exam

The SST is a reliable and accurate tool that allows employers to select individuals with the required qualifications for the jobs offered. It also gives candidates a glimpse of the job sought, encouraging self-selection.

What Professions May Make Use of the Situational Strengths Test (SST)?

The SST is a tailor-made test that can be customized to assess candidate suitability for almost any type of job and workplace. It is generally used at the beginning of the recruitment process, for screening purposes.

Cappfinity Numerical Reasoning Test (NRT)

The Cappfinity Numerical Reasoning Test is an innovative aptitude test which represents the next generation of online digital cognitive tests. The NRT was designed based on current professional needs and allows comprehensive assessment of the candidates' numerical reasoning abilities, by focusing efficiency as well as accuracy. The NRT is unique in that, unlike other digital tests, it does not have a time limit. However, the response time to each question is taken into account in the general test report.

The questions in the NRT are typically presented in the form of graphs, tables and modern visual forms. Throughout the exam, the user is asked to identify and prioritize the relevant data to be used, to understand various sets of digital information, to interpret and manipulate digital data, to decipher problems and make appropriate decisions regarding each question.

Questions may appear in a variety of formats:

  • The candidate may be asked to choose one of several answers.
  • The candidate may be asked to arrange the different answers in a certain order.
  • The candidate may be asked to write his/her answer manually, in the appropriate box.

Please note that the NRT test allows the use of a calculator.

What Professions May Make Use of the NRT?

The SST is a tailor-made test that can be customized to assess candidate suitability for almost any type of job and workplace. It is generally used at the beginning of the recruitment process, for screening purposes.

The NRT assesses the candidate's suitability for roles requiring the analysis of information and data sets. Examples of such jobs:

  • Administrative controllers
  • Processing personnel
  • Members of the research and development team
  • Apprentices
  • Commercial trainees
  • Junior and middle managers

Cappfinity Verbal Reasoning Test (VRT)

The Cappfinity Verbal Reasoning Test provides an assessment of candidates' verbal cognitive ability, based on the examinee's capacity to think and analyse written documents in a correct and logical manner. The test questions are based on different communication styles, in accordance with current communication and functional work methods. The VRT utilises dynamic assessment techniques in order to self-generate questions based on the candidate's abilities.

As with the other Cappfinity cognitive tests, the VRT differs from verbal aptitude tests, created by other publishers, in its progressive (rather than time-limited) approach.

The questions in this test may focus on different topics and appear in a variety of formats:

  • Missing-word sentences, to be completed from several possible options provided in a word-bank.
  • Document comparison, depending on the method of communication used.
  • Texts in which each word must be examined for spelling, grammar or conjugation and corrected accordingly.
  • Sentences to be ordered according to the statement.
  • Short texts, followed by several questions, for each of which you may answer one of three choices: "true", "false" or "can’t say".

The Aim of the Exam

Different workplaces have different expectations of their employees. Some may prioritize speed over verbal accuracy, whilst others may entail extreme verbal accuracy and put less emphasis on finishing tasks quickly. For these reasons, the VRT includes verbal comprehension questions with varying levels of difficulty. As well as the level of difficulty, the scoring algorithm takes into account both speed and accuracy, allowing for comprehensive evaluation of the candidate.

What Professions May Make Use of the VRT?

The Cappfinity Verbal Reasoning Test may be used in order to screen candidate suitability for any position that requires both comprehension and interpretation of written information.

Examples of jobs for which the CRT may be of use:

  • Administrative staff
  • Creative and marketing positions
  • Human resources
  • Journalism
  • Public relations

Even so, almost every employer and every position will require some degree of verbal comprehension.

Cappfinity Critical Reasoning Test (CRT)

The Cappfinity Critical Reasoning Test (CRT) is an innovative aptitude test, designed to evaluate candidates' critical cognitive abilities. In addition to critical reasoning, this exam screens the candidate's capacity to evaluate evidence, judge arguments and compare hypotheses, whilst drawing logical conclusions from the data. The CRT is unique in that it enables candidates to assess confidence in their answers, which allows for additional insight into their critical reasoning aptness.

The questions in the CRT are based on the modern-day job market and current events. It is a modular exam, allowing for adaptation in accordance with the requirements of any employers who wish to examine their candidate's critical reasoning abilities. Just like the other Cappfinity tests, the exam is not time-limited, although the time taken to answer questions is measured.

The CRT's questions may focus on different types of reasoning, such as abduction reasoning, syllogism, and other types of logical reasoning, as well as critical verbal reasoning.

The Aim of the Exam

The CRT may be utilized when picking candidates for jobs requiring the analysis of several sets of information from different sources, and/or creative or logical information processing. It assesses the candidate's ability to question, analyze and evaluate information in order to reach logical conclusions.

What Professions May Make Use of the CRT?

Most recruitment processes for analytical positions involve the completion of a critical reasoning test, often in addition to a numerical reasoning test. This exam is suitable for a range of jobs and levels, through simple employee to manager positions.
